On Episode 27 of Roll The Receipts, Sherwin and Andrika are back from Vegas with plenty to discuss, starting with their Usher and Chris Brown concert experiences. Then it’s straight into the reality TV docket with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the Next Gen NYC finale, and first reactions to the new RHOP trailer.

Then the expectations get real. RHONY is officially back, and Sherwin and Andrika break down the premiere and whether the new season is giving what it needs to give. Meanwhile, RHUGT continues in Atlanta with an Alter Ego Party that leaves some of the Housewives OGs wondering when they’re going to get the recognition they deserve.

Finally, Project Runway Season 22 reaches the finish line. Sherwin and Andrika break down the final collections, judging, and winner before looking ahead to another packed week of reality TV.

Because like some of these OGs on Ultimate Girls Trip, me and Andrika have some expectations, okay, on these shows now. Now, Andrika, it's so good to talk to you again. We just got back from Vegas. Listen, a time was had. Am I wrong? A time was had.

Yeah. But let's talk about that concert though, because wow. Okay. I have, I don't know about you, but I have no notes. No notes. It was my third time seeing Chris Brown and my second time seeing Usher. And let me tell you something. Seeing Usher, now Usher is the original love of my life. Okay. He was the reason for the trip for me. Okay. Like that's why I want to go to Vegas and just celebrate. It just happened to be my birthday weekend. But I turned into a 13-year-old girl again in my bedroom, singing to all the Usher posters on my wall. It was just me and him and nobody else in the stadium. I promise you. And Chris Brown was flying and singing. Chris, Chris, Chris, it was a scene where he was getting, he was in a thing. Very marvel of him. He was in a tube and he was getting pumped in his veins with like the greatest of all times, the Michael Jacksons, the Teddy Pentagresses, the Prince, the who's who of male RB black singers. And let me tell you something. That's exactly who Chris is. Chris is all of them. Chris can sing. Chris can motherfucking dance. Okay. I love watching Chris dance. Chris. No notes. The fire, the flame, the way they went back and forth. Amazing.

Like, and I agree with you. The pumping of the veins with these other RB legends. I mean, it's called the RB Tour. So the fact that they're paying homage to all the OGs, the legends that came before them, I thought it was amazing. I had so much fun. The songs were on point. Listen, Miss Lil' Taraji P. Hansen made an appearance. Usher brought her on stage. I thought that was a really fun moment. And then Chris also brought out some special guests. He brought out Taiga. And then I was like, oh, wait, it's gonna. Because you know, and then the song was playing, and then we were like, Oh, that's gonna. So, you know, Chris Brown also had some surprises up his sleeve. So I thought overall it was a great concert, and I had a lot of fun.

So it was a good time. I didn't know who it was when he first came out. I ain't gonna even hold you until he sang the song by himself. And the shout out to me having a high schooler because I knew the song. I'm such a mom. I'm such a mom. I knew the song, and I started doing a dance that they do at school. Uh-uh. But yeah, it was a great time. It was a great time. And if the tickets weren't so expensive, or somebody wants to sponsor me, I will go back. I will go back. I will go back because I had a great time.

It was fun. I I agree. Now we're back home. Okay. We've done our healing, our recovery from the weekend. And we've also been able to catch up on some Bravo. And I know you've been keeping up with not just Bravo, but some other shows as well. So, Andrika, tell everybody what you've been keeping up with lately.

Well, I have so many shows on my docket, you guys. I'm exhausted already. I have some new shows that I'll tell you guys about later. But of course, my girls, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, premiered season five this past Thursday, September 10th, on Hulu. Now, listen here, it was a lot of controversy this, this, this, this time. If you guys remember a while back, and we'll we'll link what episode we talked about. But remember, Taylor was filming The Bachelorette, and then everything came out with Dakota, and then they had to cancel her on The Bachelorette because of you know it going into the court and it being physical abuse, you know, all that. And so we're seeing that right now because they had to pause production. So what they did to us, which was unusual, is that they dropped all the episodes on the 10th. So I haven't made it through all the episodes. Let me just start there. Because I was that was not expected. They usually drop it, you know, weekly, right? That's what they normally do. But they was like, nah, we done. Here is all the episodes. The other thing is there's only five episodes, and it's usually like a good 10, 12 seasons. So that's how you know they had to pause production. But they did let us know, like in the interviews, like, hey, we're picking back up for interviews, but they've already filmed. So just going back, filming stopped in March of this year due to the legal and domestic assault investigations involving Taylor and Dakota. Uh and so it production ended abruptly and it never resumed. It only so the episodes I hear ends on a cliffhanger, episode five. And then we see the interviews from the girls in the fillers. However, they already start filming season six and Hulu ordered 20 episodes this time. And I'm like, okay, y'all, y'all could have just did episode six, I mean season six and seven. But so far, we're seeing episode one, we're seeing Taylor coming back from filming. So we already know that she's engaged, she let us know, but she already started cheating on her in person that she's engaged.

Yes, she got engaged with the person that she met on the Bachelorette. But the so you know how like in Bachelorette they bring the people home to meet the people, to meet the families and stuff like that. They they she also invited three of the of the girls. Now I'm gonna be honest, y'all. Y'all know I don't know nobody's names. Okay, so she invited the original three. So she invited it, doesn't matter. She invited two of the girls'.

She invited she invited the hairstylist, the one that got the big hairstylist thing. She invited the other mom, then then the two moms that was pregnant last season, she invited them. Again, I don't know the girls' names, okay? I think one name is Macy, and then it doesn't matter because I don't know nobody's name. The only person I know name is I know is Taylor and Whitney. And and and and that's it. But it wasn't Whitney. And they they said the girls said, Oh, I know Layla, because Layla's a black one. I'll be honest. That's the other one I know. But she wasn't invited. However, she did, she did get engaged to somebody from The Bachelorette that she chose. His name was, I don't remember. But the girls called it and they was like, they don't think that she should have got engaged to him because it was given very Dakota, and that's what she's used to. It also seemed like he was there as an opportunity because he had a he wanted a singing career. So they were like, they voted against him, and her mama voted against him as well. But she didn't marry him and getting well getting engaged to him. Then she comes home and she starts singing with Dakota, the one that she just got into physical education with with the whole physical abuse. It's a mess. And then she's like, she's gonna call it off with the one that she got engaged to because she in love with someone else, not Dakota, but somebody named Ben who she met on TikTok before she left. It's a mess, y'all. Y'all should be watching this show because it's just a big ball of mess. And that's just episode one. I even got the episode two yet.

Like you said, the only ones I really know is Taylor because of all the controversy that went on with The Bachelorette. And then Whitney. But hey, honestly, Taylor, if the Bachelorette didn't work out, I'm sure Dancing with the Stars will take you. I mean, look, Whitney's husband is husband, boyfriend. I'm not sure that they're married or not, but they're so married. They're married. Okay, well, Connor, he's one of the contestants on the show Dancing with the Stars that's coming up. So hey, Taylor, if you need another gig, Dancing with the Stars, I'm sure season 36 is calling your name.

Like, if it wasn't for Kim having the sex tape with Ray J, you know, they wouldn't have been able to capitalize off that show. Like, we knew Kim, right?

Taylor is the nucleus of Secret Lives of Mormon wise. We are watching because of what she did on the TikTok, okay? She they were they were the whole mom talk, they were all doing the dances and the stuff like that on TikTok. And then she said that she's been swinging, which is against the Mormon book of X, Y, and Z, right? And it was a big controversy about it all. And then they got this show. So Taylor is the nucleus of this show. So I don't think she should do anything else. I think she should focus on her mental health because that girl got issues, you know. And she needs, if she's gonna do anything, maybe she should do a partnership with Calm. You know, Calm, the the app, you know, meditation.

Now, I have not, I'll be honest, I have not watched the full finale, but I have been seeing clips, and I did catch the tail end because I was trying to catch something else and it came up. Listen, a girl is busy with TV, okay? And then outside of real life. But there's this one thing that that came out is that Charlie and Ariana did kiss, and that remember the whole season it was about them having this, you know, underlying sexual tension. And so they kissed. And I saw them kiss, and that's where I came in. I came in where they were meeting each other at the ice skating ring, and then she went in.

Girl, a snowy winter in New York, honey. A snowy winter season, and she went on ahead and they kiss, right? And then, and the reason okay, that's why I remember now because I wanted to see the three girls, Ariana, Gia, and what's the girl's name? Ava was going to be on Watch of Us Live that night. And so I wanted to see that. And so that's how I saw the tail end of the kiss. And Ariana was saying that they're gonna talk about all this at the reunion, but she feels like Charlie played her with the whole his his religion and him being a Christian and him being related to God and yada yada, and she fell for that, and that's why she went in to kiss him, because he basically played her. And now people are calling Ariana stupid and this, that, and the other, and she should never did that. And I want people to know, not know, but I want people to think, where were you at 24? There's a 24-year-old child. Who who who never have done something stupid at 24? You know, and we all have kissed some frogs. The girl is single, she wasn't with Hudson, she wasn't with Liam, she was literally exploring single life. So she should have kissed 10 frogs. I didn't say fuck, I said kiss because I don't feel like kissing. Ain't nothing wrong with Lil' Peck or two. But leave the girl alone, you know. But I'm looking forward to everything that's gonna come on the reunion because reunion premieres this reunion part one. So we listen, they get a multi-part reunion like they this is big deal, you know. But they get a multi-part reunion, reunion part one premieres this coming Wednesday, I believe. So I will need to be watching that New York finale like sometime this week before the prep before the reunion premiere, so I could be ready.

And I will say, speaking of the reunion, I loved your hot takes on your Andrika Unfiltered for your yeah, because you did the little recap of all the looks for the reunion for these little nieces and nephews, like we call them. So I gotta give a shout out to you because listen, and I want to say hello to all the new listeners and followers, okay? Because um, we love it when you guys chime in and give us your opinion. Yes, it's coming out in October. I think October 11th is the date. I want to know what I really want to know, what I really want to know is what happened between Giselle and Karen because she said, not my dad. And knowing that Karen has lost both her parents and how sensitive she was around that area, how any person should be, right? And for her to now, and I'm assuming it's all assumption about her to be saying something out of Giselle done lost her dad. I hope she ain't said nothing like negative or or anything like that. So that's what really caught my eye, especially with them recently rebuilding and rekindling their relationship. So I hope it didn't go south.

Well, here's the thing, and this is my take on it. I agree, I thought the boring the the trailer could have been a little bit better. It was a little boring, but I am excited for this season because we've talked about this before, right? When you keep the cast pretty much the same, you know, we get to see the dynamics play out, the relationships play out, and so I do like that they're bringing back pretty much everybody except for Angel and Kay, because we really didn't need Angel and Kay. And honestly, I don't really know what Ashley Darby is bringing this season, but we will see. We definitely don't need her. We definitely don't need her, and honestly, like Robin they didn't have to bring her back too, regular Robin. Yeah, nobody really asked for that.

So I do feel like you are onto something with this, but you know, they always like bringing in girls that have some kind of connection to the group, right? Well, let me just say this. The girls is back and they came in swinging, they knocked it out of the Yankee Stadium, and that premiere was was listen. The no notes, but I do have a few. I'm excited for the season. It is about to be fucking amazing. Okay. Let me just start with I love the Sex in the City intro. So if you for those that know Sex in the City, right? You know, Carrie Bradshaw is basically narrating, and you know, you just see her typing away and you know, narrating what she's writing, yada yada yada, right? And so, and then as she's narrating, she's introducing like her friends, right? Blah blah blah, yada, yada, and who they are. Like, it was just so cute. And they did a spin that, and that's how they introduce Carol. What we didn't know was Willie's. I didn't know it was Carol. They was doing a little whole narrating of introducing the girl because all the girls were introduced. The new girls was introduced as well, literally on episode one of the premiere, and then even Carol, and then when they turned around, it was Carol. We know Carol's a writer, it kind of just all fit in, right? It was actually a perfect intro. Then the first scene was the new girl, Daisy. Now, I did I I do know these names because I was taking notes. I do know Daisy knocked it out by giving us Martha, Martha motherfucking Stewart in literally the first two minutes of the fucking premiere.

But anyway, she comes in, Martha's getting her makeup done because Daisy's her makeup artist, right? Like, hey, did I clean up a little bit? But yes, we came a long way. But what Martha is talking about, they talk about, hey, what are you watching on TV? Martha's saying that she's watching, I can't think of it right now, but we all know that they just did a JFK and Caroline FX on Hulu, uh FX show, like a little adaptation of like their oh, love stories, but it's called that's what it's called, which I did watch, so I know that's what you're talking about. But Martha was telling us about how she talked to JFK Jr. the Monday before he died that Friday. Jude, I think Jude is very talented. Like, when it comes to tailoring, nobody can beat Jude. My only concern with Jude is the creativity, just might have not been there. Like, I feel like with some of these other outfits, like, in my opinion, Anna was the best when it came to this final collection. She told a story from start to finish. I love how she used unconventional materials for one of her outfits with the garbage bags, which looked very couture. I think Anna honestly was the best of the collections. But Jude is very talented. Great tailor, great, you know, suits and jackets and trenches. I love it. B, I thought did a great job as well. I thought his collection was a little different. It was a little repetitive for me, but I thought he had a very nice collection. The only person that I'm very conflicted about is Joseph McRae. And I know you love him, Andrika, so I'm gonna, you know, be very fair with my opinion on this. No, go ahead, be honest. Be honest. Yeah, I gotta keep it real. I I love how Joseph McCrae is loud. Like, that's my favorite thing about Joseph. Like, he will put his name on the belt, he'll put his name on the jacket. I love it. It's given very much Chanel, you know. You put you see C's everywhere, or you see on Gucci the G's. Like, I love a good branding. Like, I love how he's branding it with his Joseph McCrae logo, as he should, as he should, but I do feel like it was given a little bit Fourth of July. Okay, I think it was the red and the blue and the way he did some of the designs. I think his collection is very unique. It is actually gonna be tailored to a specific audience that would love his looks. Like, I can totally see a specific audience loving his looks, the ones that go to josephmacrae.com, okay? But this isn't JosephMcRay.com competition. This is Project Runway. So to Law's point, you gotta design something for this show. And I don't know if that collection was a fit for this kind of competition. I think it would be great for a collection outside of it, maybe at, like you said, New York Fashion Week, but not for a Project Runway competition when you know all these other designers are gonna bring out all the other stops. So that's why I'm conflicted. I like his outfits, but I just didn't feel like it was right for the show. I do feel like Law is a hater a little bit. Like Law, let up. You gotta be at least real and respect the fact that Joseph doesn't give a fuck and will do what Joseph wants to do. Like you got to be.

I think I'm the audience for Joseph McCrae, but I feel like y'all didn't give us the challenge was to create a five-look collection based off your aesthetic. That's what Joseph McCrae did. He created, he and Anna and Jude and B all did that. There was no, there was the brief was based off you. You guys could do whatever you wanted to do. There, you know, it was up to yours. So Joseph was about being the American boxer, right? And how he fought his way through all these challenges to get here. Hence the red, white, and blue. I think that he was loud. I think he was bold, and I think he was that was very much so him, just with B. B was very much so like clean, cut, sexy, you know, kitten, like that.

Exactly. And Anna is very unconventional. That's why she's able to use garbage bags and manipulate it, make it look like hot leather. Like, so I think that they all delivered the brief. They designed their own collection. I think because Project Runway, at the end of the day, likes to develop someone and have that hanging over their head, like, yeah, we invested all this money into you, and you're gonna be the designer that we want you to be until you make it. Hence why no one really makes it. Like the only person that really has made it out of all 22 seasons has been Christian Seriano because he listened to what they said, and then once he listened to what they said and got and fulfilled his probably contract, he did what the fuck he wanted to do, right? And that's exactly what Jude's gonna do. He's gonna fit in their mode and do what they want to do. Because hey, but is he gonna sell? Or is he? I think is B gonna, I mean, is Jude gonna be like every other project runner designer outside of Christian Seriano? Yes, yes, yes, and in my mind, do I think Joseph McCray should have won? Absolutely, but who I think could have been the next Christian Seriano would have been B. I would have given it to B.

I definitely agree. I think they're all gonna be successful in their own way. Like, I still think Joseph McCrae, with or without the show, is still gonna be able to build his brand. He did a great job branding on this show, and so I think he'll be successful regardless. I do agree with your point. They probably do want somebody they can mold. Again, you do get a mentorship with the CFDA, and so they probably want somebody they can shape and grow with and develop. So I can see how that could be a factor as why they chose Jude, but I think they were all unique and individual in their own way. Like I like how nobody was the same, like everybody had their own style and their own unique perspective and told a different story. So that's what I love most about the final show is that you really get to show more of who you are. You know, it's not just hey, this is the challenge, and then design something for the challenge. It's hey, to your point, here's the freedom. Who are you on, you know, on the runway? So I loved it. I liked it. I know Project Runway has changed a lot since the other days, but and can I just say we haven't seen Tyra Banks since that whole showdown with Law Roach, okay? But we'll see if she's back on next season. But it was a good season overall. I enjoyed it. So no notes on the overall season.

I'm also watching Big Brother. I'm busy. I'm watching Big Brother. I'm still watching Double Lives of Suburban Wise. But while I am on TLC, my aunt threw me a cliffhanger, honey, because I asked her if she watched Thaus Monty Don. She loves watching TV too as well. And so I asked her, like, hey, I haven't heard from you. Have you caught up on black and beauty? She was like, Girl, no, I ain't caught up on black and beauty. Because I have been watching Keeping Up with the Joneses. And I was like, What is that? She was like, It's on Lifetime, starring Vivica Fox. But they took it off of Lifetime, but my aunt really watches YouTube a lot. And she said that if we start a YouTube, she might listen to our podcast a little bit more because it's on the YouTube, right? Okay. But she done found the four-part series of Keeping Up with the Joneses and stumbled upon the on on life on YouTube. Baby. When I tell you, I was stuck. So I'm watching that. So I need to finish that before I get into everything else. So I'm hopefully finish that today. And hopefully I'll be done with all four parts. It's a long ass movie, but of course, with YouTube, they put in four parts.
