Um I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. But it is Pride Month, and I'm excited. So, what's going on with you, Andrica?

Yes. Well, let me just say, I feel like there's a couple of people in life that you just have to have as a regular. One is your doctor, you know, they gotta know your health, your body, whatever. One is your dentist because you know you want your teeth looking good all the time. And the third, in my opinion, is your hairstylist or your barber because you don't want to walk out here looking crazy, okay? And I know, listen, there are hairstylists out there that are out there making a living, trying to work their hardest. I get it, but some people it's not meant for everybody. So when you find one that works for you, you gotta stick with this. So if your hairstylist is working for you, Andrica, I love it for you. I have a barber that I go to, I don't want to change. I know one time he said he was sick, he was like, Well, you can hit up my co-worker. Nope, not doing it. Because I know that's right. I know because if you do my hair a certain way, and I don't want somebody else having to ask me, Well, what do you want? and then have to interpret what I'm telling them. Like, no, I don't got time for all that. You know my order, just like my Starbucks barista. You know my order every time I pull up, make sure it's on ready. That's it.

So I mean, this is all true. Like, and then, like, and I'm a loyal client. I've had this, I've had her for nine years, and the only reason why I switched over to her is because the the my previous hairstylist, her schedule changed, it wasn't working for me and my schedule anymore. And so I found a gym and I boom. Same thing with my lash tech. Like, I'm just listening here. What's gonna happen about me as a black woman is the hair is going to stay done. I was unemployed and still kept my hair done and my lashes.

Yes, pridefully. Listen, we're gonna be dropping pride all along this month. So if you hear pride over and over and over again for the next couple of weeks, just be ready. It's intentional. We're celebrating. And let's let's talk about why it's intentional, real quick, Andrica, because I feel like there's a lot, you know, going on in the world, right? And I feel like there's a lot of people that want to stay silent when it comes to pride because, you know, just the judgment that comes with it with everything going on with our current administration and some of the laws they're putting in place. Like I heard the other day that they were taking away, you know, the right for trans people to use certain bathrooms to be on certain sports teams, right? Like, there are these different amendments and different states like that are coming up with their own laws and stuff to prevent people of LGBT plus from living their life. And I feel like it's unfair because why does anybody really care, anyways, like what people do with their with who they are. Like, I've never understood that, you know what I mean? And I just think that people should live their life how they want it if they're not hurting anybody else, then why is anybody else concerned? And so here on the pod, we're gonna celebrate it because there's too much hiding pride going on in the world, and we're very proud to be, you know, part of the community, allies of the community. And so I just want to say shout out to everybody out there that's you know part of LGPTG Plus, or they're an ally, right? Like, we're celebrating this month, we are all celebrating, right?

But speaking, why don't we just dive right in? Because like I want to talk about certain people in the community who've been doing really big things, and like one of them is Caramo, right? Like Koramo is a big icon staple in the LGBTQ plus community, and I want to say Queer Eye was one of those shows that well, I wasn't a big queer eye fan, like I just never I watched clips here and there, but there was just I had I'm a Bravo person, so you know I never really go into it. I was okay. Well, then tell me more about it because I want to know.

Well, I well, I didn't really so first okay, I just want to say that I was a original queer eye for the straight guy back when they were on Bravo TV. Remember, Bravo was a little, well, look a little, little, little network, right? A lot of the shows wasn't on Bravo, right? But queer wait, was queer eye? Well, I'm I have to I'm see my phone is.

And that was a big one, and then the guy that hosts Chop that I can't think of his name right now, but he hosts Chop. But some of the other ones out there, they were Queer Eye for the Straight Guys, so they were original Fab Five. Well, Netflix came and did a remake and did Queer Eye, and that's where we got Caramo and Anthony and Tan France and all what is now on Netflix, right?

So, but let's not do all that right now. Also, shout out to Andy. You know, if we're doing Pride, it was Andy celebrated birthday yesterday, so shout out to Andy.

They call him Daddy Andy in the Bravo for a reason, clearly. But so, yes, so it was a Fab Five, yada yada, blah zip blah. They did have a change with the the person that was over like home renovations and home decor. It went from Bobby to oh my god, his name, Jonathan. I don't know, Nate Burkis.

Jeremiah, yes. Nate Burkis has Nate Burkis' husband, Nate Burkis was like Oprah's protege for her home. You know, she had Yanla, Dr. Phil, and then Nate was another one who did like those transformations. Anywho's, but apparently, and I didn't know, I thought they were like Kumbaya, my lord, friends, the Fat Five, Jonathan Vaness, and all of them. But like on this last season, Caramo stopped showing up to press tours and you know, interviews and all of that. And everybody was like, What the fuck? Why he not showing up? I know I was one of them, like, is he sick? Like, what's going on? Now keep in mind, I knew Crome back when he was on real world Philadelphia. So when he came on the show, I was like, Oh my god, he's gay. Like he was totally straight.

And he was straight, and I remember he was, yeah, that's the crazy thing. But you know what? It takes everybody a different timeline, you know, no judgment.

No judgment here, but that's why I was like, I know him not to do my research. I was like, oh my god, it's him. You know, clearly he grew up, you know, got his little face here and stuff like that, blah blah blah. But I was like, oh my god, anyways, so he wasn't showing up to the stuff, and so that's when it was like saying that he had beef with Tan, Jonathan, and Anthony. And I was like, what? And so I just started hearing buzz about how like they were more so not supportive of him as a black man, not as a gay man, but as a black man.

Well, because you said, well, the reason why is because you said, you know, it's because he's a black man, not because he's a gay man. And I was like, well, it shouldn't be. I hope it's not because he's a gay man, because if it is, they're all gay and they're judging themselves, right? So that part I was like, wait, but I mean, I kind of it kind of makes sense that he was alienated. I mean, I feel like we see this a lot in TV and reality TV and scripted television, like, you know, the minority people don't feel as included in a lot of things, and so I don't know what's going on, but I did see the other day, Andrica, that he is doing a sit-down with People magazine.

So it's out, it's out. However, Pooh Magazine wants you to download their app so you can see it. And I'm not doing it. I end up for Jen Shaw, I'm not doing it for Caramo. Somebody's gonna put it on YouTube, and that is when I will see the details. I have watched the highlighted reel, and he is letting us know. He's talking about like when they got pulled over, he was wondering if it was set up. He's talking about like, you know, just being in the room and them like saying certain words, and it was like, did we not just see what happened with George Floyd? Like, you know, like all the things, and I'm just like, so I'm here. I want to hear what he had to say because listen here. I will, I you know, they were all my favorites. I mean, Anthony did get on my nerves with his like soft spoken and like wannabe, like his voice, you know, his voice, like his voice just seemed very fake and phony to me. But tan, Jonathan, you know, like I really truly like like them, you know. Of course, with Karama as well, all the guys, but if they are part of the like, mm-mm won't do that over here. Now I don't roll the receipts. Uh, we support each other over here, okay.

But I will say Anthony was on Watch What Happens live, and I did get to hear a little bit about what he was saying about, you know, the cast and stuff like that. But I will say, even though I didn't watch Queer Eye, I will be tuning into this. I feel like it's, you know, what a Queer Eye was one of those things that we just knew in the community, right? And so to hear that this was going on behind the scenes is a little disturbing because you just wouldn't expect it, right? You would think that there's a lot of brotherly brotherhood going on between all the Fab Five, right? And I was shocked when I saw the little clip of him doing an interview with people. I was like, okay. And normally when you're doing a sit-down with people, it's like serious shit. Like we just got Jen Shaw, right, doing a sit-down. Like, they want the tea. It's people magazine, right? So I'm I'm at the same time.

I don't want people to make us download a fucking app. Like, right, just don't and they because like you make us download an app, but then you put it on YouTube a couple of weeks later. It's like this is you're not this is not the movie theaters, like where you know how to show one movie, and there's a reveal at home video and stuff like that. Like, just put it on your YouTube page. Like, you're still gonna monetize off it because you're people magazine. I don't want another app. I don't not for no interviews, not like I'm like it's not like I don't even have the Bravo TV app. I definitely ain't getting the People Magazine app. The only app that I extra got was Peacock, right?

Okay, I mean I don't know. They just didn't take a page out of Carlos King's book at this point. Like, we want to see these interviews, and like Carlos King is another person, in my opinion, that's a staple in the gay community when it comes to entertainment. Like, I'm just gonna say it like it is like he's another person alongside Karama who people look at and actually admire and want to be like because he not only was a producer on a lot of these housewives shows, but now he's doing these interviews and this hosting and all this stuff and really doing a great job at it. And so he's giving people jobs, he's giving people jobs, and he's also getting the the tea for us, like he's asking the hard question. You know, we're not waiting until a reunion with Andy, like he's doing these interviews, and we got one with Portia, we get one with a lot of different housewives. What do you think about Carlos King and his interviews? Because I know you also like to watch him, Andreka.

I like to watch them sometimes they're too long, like his Monday night lives. I don't watch them live because I'm gonna be I'm not the biggest Claudia fan. I just feel like she's still a hater. I've always felt like she was a hater. Like, you know, like girl, you didn't sign up for another season of Bravo, like right.

I just think that, you know, she just she came with that Kenya energy, like, and I think that also might have hurt her, too, is that she came on there as a friend of Kenya, right? And Kenya already had issues within the group. Portia, Nene, you know, she has some issues with Phaedra. So I feel like that's also what didn't really make it right for Claudia. It was just bad timing for her. Right now, she would be one that I wouldn't even mind seeing her come back.

Versus now the friend of is like a part of the entire season, like they're there for everything. So I feel like we could give her another chance on Atlanta and just have her hang out with the girls like Cynthia does, right? And have her come and do her little shade. But I mean, I feel like she didn't just deserve one season, like it wasn't given one hit wonder, right? With her, it was given renew her contract and see what happens, like in my opinion.

But back to Carlos, I think Carlos, when I say he's giving people jobs, like honestly, I've been also watching a lot more of his shows too, like The Bell Collective and Love and Marriage Huntsville and all his like other like Kingdom Entertainment, along with his I I subscribe to his YouTube channel because he does bring those those interviews. Like when he first launched it, he had you know the original uh season one Housewives outside of Nene. He had them all on his podcast, and he's been given bringing us great interviews, but I have I know he just did one with Duran Bernard that I haven't finished. I've started. And I I love them together.

And I haven't seen a lot of Duran's interviews, I will say that, but I do like it feels like he's extremely comfortable talking to Carlos, and he is saying some real shit, okay, and talking about prejudice inside of the gay community, which I felt was like eye-opening in a sense for me, like as an ally and not knowing all the stories. Like when he was like, someone didn't want me to penetrate them because they thought I was gonna glow throw glitter on their back. Oh my god, somebody said that to you. Like my eyes was like, what the fuck?

You know, I feel like there's always gonna be some kind of stereotype when it comes to music or specifically male RB, right? Like when you think of a lot of these male RB artists like Usher, right? Or Chris Brown or Tank, right? I mean, any of them. Like you think of these guys as like, you know, speaking of women. They're when they're singing, they're you know, seducing women, they're singing to women. I feel like with Duran Bernard trying to be in the same category, there's gonna be a lot of haters. So he just won a Grammy actually the other day, right?
